Between 1972 and 1989, MLC helped more libraries be added to each system in the state and continued reading programs for all ages to learn to read. Additionally, the Peggy May Award was announced by the MS Library Association in honor of the deceased MLC Assistant Director. MLC curated the library in the MS Governor’s Mansion.
