All 82 counties in MS now have a public library. MLC also opened Talking Books Services in partnership with the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled in order to bring accessible reading to Mississippians with visual, physical, or other disabilities. In 1971, MLC split into two locations to continue to grow.
