Continuing Education
The continuing education program is an integral part of MLC's services to the public library community. Each year the Mississippi Library Commission provides a skills development program with training opportunities in both traditional library services and emerging library services.

Trustee Academy
The Trustee Academy is a series of online courses created by the Association of Library Trustees, Advocates, Friends, and Foundations (ALTAFF) a division of the American Library Association. Courses help Trustees
become exceptionally proficient in their roles on behalf of their
libraries.

Advisory Group
The ad hoc Continuing Education Advisory Group (CEAG) provides advice and assistance to MLC in the area of continuing education. CEAG is comprised of representatives of the public library community and the Executive Director of the Mississippi Library Commission and Skills Development Consultant of the Mississippi Library Commission.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs):
- Individuals or organizations wishing to offer CEU credits for workshops they present must complete the following CEU credit form and submit it to Lorietha Myers, Development Services Division, Mississippi Library Commission, 3881 Eastwood Drive, Jackson, MS 39211.
- Participants wishing to receive CEU credits for a workshop they attend may request them from the individual or organization presenting the workshop, provided the presenter has made the above arrangements with MLC.
- Complete information on CEUs, including guidelines and instructions, can be found on the second page of the CEU credit form.
CE Travel Reimbursement
Reimbursement for CE travel may be available through the agency's Skills Development Grant. Please see the Grants Program Management page for more information.
