Resource Sharing
OCLC Resrouce Sharing System
Mississippi public libraries have access to materials in libraries throughout the country as participants in the OCLC Resource Sharing Service. OCLC is a nonprofit, membership, computer library service and research organization. Funding provided by the Mississippi Library Commission allows public library systems to search for and electronically borrow books and other material from thousands of OCLC member libraries. Training and support is also provided by Commission staff.
Academic, special, and school libraries may participate in the OCLC Resource Sharing Service at their own expense under the auspices of the Library Commission. Commission staff can provide training and support free of charge.
